Fair Ball

Terms

The short version: Fair Ball is free for your team. The name, the mark and the code are ours, so please don't put them on something of your own.

Using Fair Ball

Fair Ball is free for any coach, team or league, with nothing to sign up for, on as many devices as you like. It is a tool for coaches: Fair Ball builds the lineup, and you call the game. Check a lineup against your league's rules before you hand it in, and keep your own pitch counts. Fair Ball is offered as is, with no promise that it is free of mistakes or fits your league, and we are not responsible for a game, a forfeit, a ruling or a lost lineup that comes from using it. If something is wrong, tell us and we will try to fix it.

Your team is yours

Everything you enter, your players, your team name, your batting order, your lineups and your saved games, is yours. Fair Ball claims nothing over it, and it stays on your device. The privacy page says exactly what stays where.

The name and the mark

"Fair Ball", the Fair Ball mark (a baseball whose two seams are arrows chasing each other around the ball) and "Fair innings for every kid." are trademarks of Fair Ball, whether or not they are registered. Don't use them, or anything close enough to be confused with them, as the name, logo or branding of your own app, site, software or service for teams, leagues or coaches, or in a way that suggests Fair Ball made, endorses or is behind something it did not. Using the name to refer to Fair Ball itself is fine: "made with Fair Ball", a link to the site, a mention in your league newsletter.

The code

Fair Ball's code is copyrighted, and all rights are reserved. It is not open source, and seeing it grants no license: not in a repository, and not in the files your browser downloads to run the app. Don't copy it, host your own copy, or build a product or service from it, in whole or in part, without written permission. Reading it, and quoting a short excerpt to review or discuss it, is fine.

Changes and questions

If these terms change, we will update this page and the date at the top. Questions, or permission to use the name or the code? Leave a note on Fair Ball's Buy Me a Coffee page (opens in a new tab).
